Synopsis
The pre-school magical series features a set of four colourfully illustrated books with a magical wizard theme that will entertain, as well as educate. The books focus on the core literacy, numeracy and associated skills set out by the government as the main educational goals of the Foundation Stage - the stage that leads up to the first year of primary school. A host of fun characters, including Little Wizard Pointy, will lead your child through the books. Each page features fun exercises for parents to do with their children; each exercise is accompanied by a parental note explaining the educational goal it sets out to achieve. Motivation is encouraged by reward stickers, which can be added to a fun, colourful wizard's cauldron at the back of the book.In a cave, in a magical land, far, far away lives a little wizard, called Pointy. Pointy is learning magical English powers from the great Wizard Whimstaff. He is lonely though, and would like to have a friend to learn with him. He has chosen you! Also in the cave lives Miss Snufflebeam, Wizard Whimstaff's pet dragon. She is very silly and clumsy and gets confused a lot. Then there are Pointy's two naughty pet frogs, Mugly and Bugly. What they like to do most of all is to sit around eating and croaking and burping. Sometimes they help Wizard Whimstaff with his spells though. Maybe if you do these magical exercises, you can earn all the ingredients to do a spell of your own!
